Delivering Relief

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam: Layne Water Pipeline & Infrastructure for the Layne Christensen Company

One of the biggest issues for fracking is the availability of water, requiring millions of gallons of water to frack a single well. To serve energy producers in the Delaware Basin, Layne Christensen Company partnered with Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam to build a high-capacity water infrastructure system comprising non- potable water wells, pump stations, 20 miles of pipeline, and in-ground storage reservoirs. The firm completed the project in just eight months, including a less than 90-day schedule to complete the pipeline. The project will reduce energy companies’ reliance on potable water for fracking operations, will save millions in water management costs, and provide a safer and sustainable alternative.
