John Cordary, P.E.
Transportation Planning and Development Director
Fort Worth District
ohn Cordary is Transportation Planning and Development Director
for the Fort Worth District of the Texas Department of
Transportation (TxDOT).
A native of Victoria, Cordary earned his bachelor's degree in civil
engineering from Texas A&M University. A TxDOT employee since 1993, Cordary began his
career as an engineering assistant in the Parker County Area Office. Since then, he has held
positions as design engineer and assistant area engineer. In 2007, he was promoted to Parker/Palo
Pinto County area engineer. Cordary was named transportation planning and development
director in 2015.
As director of transportation planning and development, Cordary oversees the district’s Bridge
Design, Bridge Inspection, Central Design, District Design, Public Transportation, Right of Way
and Transportation Planning and Development offices. Under Cordary’s supervision, the district
oversees more than $400 million in awarded contracts each year in cooperation with the North
Central Texas Council of Governments and our regional partners. In addition, he is currently
overseeing the district’s $677 million Texas Clear Lanes congestion relief projects.
Cordary lives in Weatherford with his wife, Christine. He enjoys golf, mountain biking and other
outdoor activities.Unfortunately, Loyl Bussell is needed in Austin so John Cordary, TxDOT Area Engineer will be filling in for him.
